Do motorcycles pay tolls?

On Brazilian federal highways under concession, Law 14.440/2022 exempts motorcycles from tolls. That's why we mark plazas on BR-xxx highways as “Motorcycle exempt”.

On state highways the rule varies by state and concession: some charge a reduced fare, others charge the full category-1 fare. In those cases we show “Motorcycle: check at the plaza”.

Where the data comes from

The route geometry comes from OpenStreetMap and the toll plazas are the points mapped by the community along the way, with fare and operator whenever someone added that information.

A single plaza is often mapped as several booths; we cluster nearby points so the count matches the real plazas.
